The Nevin Academy trains dancers of all ages and levels, from 4 years to adult, beginner through champion. Our dancers compete locally, nationally and in the World Championships, and carry on the Irish culture and tradition through performances at special events and shows throughout the year.

Maura Nevin, TCRG, Director

Mrs. Nevin began teaching Irish dance in Connecticut more than 35 years ago. Upon moving to Massachusetts, she opened the Nevin Academy of Irish Dance in the South Shore of Boston. Under her instruction, Nevin Academy dancers have captured many regional and national, and World Medals– both solo dancers and Ceili teams. Mrs. Nevin is a registered dance teacher with the Irish Dance Commission of Dublin, Ireland and a member of the Irish Dance Teachers Association New England Region and the Greater Boston Irish Dance Teachers Association.
Prior to expanding her school to several branches throughout the South Shore and into Rhode Island, Mrs. Nevin worked as a registered nurse at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton, MA. She has lived in Hingham, MA for nearly 30 years with her husband Chris and has four grown children.
